The Gospel of Love
A Global Culture of Belonging
A founding philanthropic campaign to bring the Gospel of Love from extraordinary rooms into a global movement of love at scale.
Our Approach
The Gospel of Love is a musical ministry and cultural movement creating immersive, participatory experiences, content and media that restore the art of human connection through music, story, embodiment and shared presence.
OUR SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE
Gospel Choir + Kirtan + Rock Concert + Embodied Sermon + Ecstatic Dance.
Except the audience doesn't remain an audience.
They become the choir, singing ourselves alive.
We are ready to build the infrastructure that moves the medicine from stages to stadiums.
Why Now?
We are living through a profound crisis of disconnection:
From Spirit,
From the Earth
From our ancestry,
From our indigenous roots.
From our sensuality,
From our community,
From each other,
and from ourselves.
For generations, tribes provided the spaces where human beings gathered to sing, grieve, celebrate, contemplate the mysteries of life and experience meaning, connection and belonging. Religious institutions replaced the tribes.
We’ve lost the tribes, and are outgrowing the institutions.
But the needs they filled are more relevant than ever.
WHAT IS GOSPEL OF LOVE?
Music you don't simply listen to. Music you belong inside of.
Gospel of Love exists to activate the sacred within each of us so we can recognize it in one another.
We write songs that unify rather than divide. Anthems that speak and sing to our shared human experience;
the power, the pain, the grit and the grace.
In a world of devices and division, we create experiences that awaken, enliven and activate
our innate, intuitive, instinctive human technology…. and then we build a world from that place.
Music, storytelling, and embodied ceremony that turns strangers into communities.
There is no doctrine to adopt.
No tradition you have to leave.
No belief required.
Just a willingness, and a readiness to participate.
After our shows people say
"My heart has never felt this open, I feel like I took ecstasy with no medicine."
"That was the most profound direct experience of God I've ever felt. You healed something in me that church broke."
"I want my children to grow up in the world you are creating."
OVER A DECADE OF PROOF
We aren't starting from an idea.
Jess Magic has been developing and producing Soul Salons as a way to “reimagine church” since 2015, creating participatory musical and ceremonial experiences designed to transform audiences into community.
That work has traveled through living rooms, festivals, retreats, leadership gatherings and cultural communities around the world and the songs have been carried into diverse environments including Burning Man, Necker Island, Bali, COPP 22 Morocco, the Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, Greece, Harlem, New Zealand and Israel, and into hundreds of gatherings for founders, executives and global leadership communities. The Gospel of Love made its debut at Burning Man in 2018 and became an instant favorite activation for hundreds of dusty pilgrims.
We have self-funded our first artist residency.
We have begun recording our first body of recorded music.
We have filmed our first music video.
We have cultivated relationships across music, culture, spirituality, entrepreneurship and global leadership.
Alongside Jess as co-architect is Eset Rose, former President of AK-Worldwide, who spent two decades in the music industry at the highest level, including as manager and creative partner to Alicia Keys.
For ten years, we have been proving the work in borrowed spaces.
The demand has outgrown the container.
Now we are ready to build underneath it.
WHAT WE ARE BUILDING
One movement. Multiple doorways.
LIVE EVENTS & TOUR
Large-scale Gospel of Love gatherings where concert, ceremony, storytelling and collective singing become one participatory experience.
These experiences can live inside festivals, conferences, cultural gatherings and our own touring ecosystem.
SOUL SALONS
Intimate gatherings for cultural leaders, founders, artists, philanthropists and communities.
These are the laboratories where much of our methodology has been developed, where we grow our network of featured preachers, brand partners, sponsors, patrons and fan base inside of environments where strangers become community in a matter of hours.
WEEKLY LOVE STREAMS
A recurring virtual gathering allowing a global community to participate in the “Good News” regardless of geography.
Not content to consume, but rather a living temple and a place to return… to nourish, to ground, to breathe, to feel, and to turn the raw materials of our daily reality into ritual and art.
ARTIST RESIDENCIES
A new touring model combining creative residency, retreat, community gathering, recording, artist incubators and cultural enrichment.
We spend meaningful time in each location rather than simply arriving, performing and leaving. The land and community become part of the music itself.
ORIGINAL MUSIC
A growing catalog of accessible devotional music designed not simply to be listened to, but sung.
We create a living library of songs that can live independently of us. In homes, ceremonies, retreats, churches, festivals and communities around the world.
WORKSHOPS & MEDIA
Music films, conversations, teachings, retreats, workshops and short-form storytelling in connection with our live performances that nurture the local cultures of the places we travel while allow the Gospel of Love spirit to travel far beyond any individual gathering.
LOVE AT SCALE
A modern case study of what happens when spiritual music becomes cultural infrastructure
There is a remarkable precedent for this. Hillsong began as a local church community in suburban Sydney in 1983.
Music emerged from the lived experience of that community. Then something happened.
The songs traveled farther than the church.
People who had never entered a Hillsong congregation began singing the music.
Other churches adopted it.
Recordings traveled internationally.
Artists toured.
The music became a primary distribution system for the spiritual culture behind it.
The Reach
By 2018, Hillsong Worship reported more than 20 million career album sales and 1.5 billion streams, while Hillsong's songs were estimated to be sung by approximately 50 million people every week around the world.
The cultural reach vastly exceeded the number of people physically attending Hillsong churches.
That cultural reach developed significant economic value. Hillsong International's Australian music and resources operation reported approximately $41.9 million in revenue in 2021, including approximately $12.3 million in music royalties alone.
The lesson isn't that Gospel of Love should become Hillsong.
Our theology, culture and organizational model are fundamentally different… we’re taking out the middle man and redistributing Divinity back where it belongs… inside of every being.
The lesson is the mechanism.
Meet the Team
THE LONG GAME…
Imagine…
Millions of people gathering every week, not around a doctrine, but around a practice of love.
Thousands of artists carrying the songs into their own communities, in their own languages, in their own ways.
Children growing up knowing music that gives them a way to grieve, celebrate, pray, connect and remember that they belong.
An economic ecosystem strong enough to sustain the artists, musicians, storytellers and communities carrying that work into the world.
That is what we are building.
Not an album.
Not a band.
Not another organization.
